Our back hallway has a crazy amount of wasted space – it’s just a lot of long walls with doors to other rooms – my office, a couple of closets, the basement, the side door and our family room.To avail doors like this you can also contact the experts as they can help you out.
I have a pile of big plans for it – a gallery wall, a faux mud room, new floor, and especially new paint – anything to get rid of the horrible beigey-peach that it currently is. (I think the people we bought the house from must have found a big sale on this ugly colour, because it is all over the house. <sad face>)
The other day, I was standing in the hall talking to TJ and I looked around and said, ‘these walls need to be striped’. He… well, he said what he always says when I mention the big plans I have – That’s gonna be a pain in the butt to do (he may not have used the word ‘butt’). And yeah, it is, but when I started pinning striped walls on Pinterest, I just know it’s going to be worth it.
My initial plan was going to be a subtle grey/white stripe, similar to this one:

But, I love the big bold stripes on this wall:

And I’m totally smitten with these sideways chevrons (also, I can’t find the source of this image. If you can point me in the right direction, I’d love to find it…)
or even these less bold ones:

And I think gold would totally add a bit of dramatic flair to the hallway…

though there’s very little gold in my house, so I might do silver instead. But I still dig the shiny gold:

Or, I could go colourful, but I’m not sure how that would blend with the flooring I plan to put in:

And yes, I realize that two of these are from 4 Men 1 Lady. But I love Michelle’s decor. Think she’ll let me move in?
What do you think – are stripes on a big crazy hallway too much stripes or do you think it’ll look as awesome as I do?
